Shout out to the 5K team that participated in Alaska!
Each year, Handfuls of Hope organizes mission trips to the Dominican Republic. Although each trip is different, all are meant to strengthen the existing communities by providing healthcare, building homes, funding schooling and educational programs for children, and ensuring families have the support and resources they need, aiming to break the cycle of poverty and build a better future.
Rescue Ridge is a volunteer-based, non-profit devoted to rescuing stray, neglected, abused or high-risk dogs and cats (and occasionally other animals) and placing them in loving, permanent homes.
Rescue Ridge showed up to the 5K with some of their most adoptable puppers. As a result, Ariel found her new home! She's now living her best life in Oceanport, NJ with her adoring parents Mike and Bri.
New Jersey Dogs of Honor is an organization that we’ve supported over the years and have grown close with the kind people behind it. Dedicated to supporting military veterans with PTSD by pairing them with rescue dogs trained as service animals. Their mission — “Dogs Rescuing Veterans; Veterans Rescuing Dogs.” Through its program, the foundation offers these trained service dogs to qualified veterans free of charge, fostering mutual rehabilitation and renewed purpose for both the veterans and the animals.
NJ Sharing Network is a New Jersey-based nonprofit that operates around the clock to recover and place donated organs and tissue for transplant, offering vital support to donor families and raising awareness of the life-saving impact of donation.
The Sharing Network is near and dear to our hearts because it was through this organization that Dennis was able to become an organ donor himself.
You'll find these "Hometown Heroes" all across West Long Branch -- an effort to remember our neighbors and loved ones who served our country .
Dennis' name appears on Monouth Medical Center's Organ and Tissue Donor Wall.
